The Belisha Foundation Hosts an Unforgettable 2nd Tournament<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Aldie, VA \u2014 September 6, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unforgettable 2nd Belisha Tournament Brings Community Together<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2nd Belisha Tournament<\/strong> took place yesterday September 6, 2025 at John Champe High School Fields, creating a vibrant and unforgettable day filled with soccer, culture, and community spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, parents, coaches, volunteers, and players<\/strong> who made this festival possible. A special highlight was welcoming respected guests Mulugeta Woldeyes<\/strong> and Alemeseged Aniche<\/strong>, Ethiopian soccer legends, who were honored with special awards from The Belisha Foundation in recognition of their contributions to the country, and for inspiring our youth and parents alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was further enriched by powerful messages from EOTMA (Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Medical Association) representative Mulu Gebrewahid<\/strong>, who urged the community to make yearly physical checkups a priority, reminding everyone to \u201ccall your doctor Monday morning and schedule.\u201d We also thank Bizuneh M. Birhan<\/strong> for composing a beautiful song honoring the late Belisha and uplifting the spirit of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The turnout was inspiring, with hundreds of families and children<\/strong> joining in. Special thanks to Link Soccer Academy<\/strong> and Ethio FC<\/strong> for bringing their teams and communities, and to our youth volunteers whose energy made this day truly memorable. The New Year spirit was also marked with a joyful Abebayehosh song<\/strong> presented by our girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This unforgettable day reminds us all why we gather: to create awareness, celebrate life, and strengthen our fight against cancer. As we close, we encourage our community to continue the journey by joining or sponsoring us in the upcoming 7th Grand African Run<\/strong>.
