I am in shock learning the passing of Beletech.
While I was active online most of the past Yr, it didn't came to feed nor learned from a common freinds about her passing. Literally learned this saddening news few min ago.
We met in 2008 at Maharishi University of Management and became freinds and I like her respectful and friendly attitude since our first encounter.
Really unfortunate leaving so early. I wish continued comfort to her loved one. I am happy to also learn that she will be survived by her kids and family.
Rest in Peace!
To be honest, I didn’t want to write anything because It’s still hard for me to accept Belisha is gone forever.
When we met Belisha 11 years ago, the first thing she said to us was “please come to our house and let’s have coffee”. Who would say that on the very first day you met them except Belishaye!
She had an amazing personality, so kind and caring, always there for those in need, a good friend to talk about anything, ሰው በልቶ የሚጠግብ የማይመስላት, ቁምነገረኛ and great sense of humor (I miss all the funny ጨርቆስ stories)
Belisha was there for me when I was in a dark place after my dad’s passing. Whenever I went to visit her, she worry about how I am doing even from the hospital bed. She cry with me and then በቃ ብላ ደግሞ መቆጣት ትጀምራለች::
She hides her suffering and comfort others.
Merso is not going to be the same without Belisha. It’s a big loss for all of us.
I know she is in a better place but It’s not easy to accept that she is gone forever.
I struggled using past tense when writing this to express a little about who Belisha was for me.
Belishaye, May your soul rest in eternal peace and God gave all of us comfort!

Let’s say my mom is carrying some candy in her hands. You walk past her, and glance at the candy for one second. When she sees you looking at her candy, instead of saying, “it’s mine” or “You can only have a little”, she asks you, “do you want it?”, and she hands you everything that was in her hands. That’s the type of person she was.
My mom was a very smart, beautiful, social, and kind human being. I’ve looked up to her and my dad, proud to have a mom like her. Some people at school or church would sometimes complain a little about how strict their mom was, and I would always brag, saying I had an easygoing mom.
She was so good with people. She meets strangers at work, at the mall, on the road, it doesn’t matter, but she would get them laughing in minutes. She would also get my friends to play games with her, which was really hard. I remember, there was a party, and her legs started hurting, so she decided not to go. I was tired, so I decided not to go either. My mom probably got 30 phone calls in just the first ten minutes. All her friends were asking her, where are you? Why aren’t you coming, I can give you a ride if you don’t have one. By the end of the hour, me and my mom were already at the party, and you could hear the adults laughing at my mom’s jokes from the basement.
My mom was also super smart. She would always make me sit with her and practice math. I would always get annoyed at the time, but I’m so thankful now. She had a very good memory. My dad told me how they went to have lunch with some old friends, and my mom brought some formula she learned back in high school. My dad and their friends had no idea what she was talking about, as they barely remembered what they learned in college. She also remembers the whole periodic table from seventh grade, which she taught me, and I forgot by the end of the week.
She always thought about us. Her friends, her kids, her family in Ethiopia. My aunt needed money to start a business, and my mom sent her money for it, even when she was sick. Every time she was in pain, or when she was tired, she would never show it until we were out of the room, thinking about us. Whenever her friends came to visit, she would talk and laugh with them, even when she didn’t feel like it.
My mom was an amazing person that everyone loved and we’ll all miss, but it’s better to know that she’s not suffering anymore and she’s in a better place. Mommy, I love you so much, and I promise I will try to be just as hard-working as you. May you rest in peace and love.

There are times when I wonder, why would God do this? The most common answer would be "God has a reason for everything" so when something happens that I don't want, I try to see it from God’s reason perspective, but this time, I couldn't, at first, I thought there was no reason, but I had to put my trust in God, knowing that he must have a very good reason. Because every time a kid talks to Beti or Amy about Belisha, these words would ALWAYS be said; 'Belisha was like a 2nd mom to me.' This was true, she was like a mom to every kid who knew her, she was so kind, sweet, and cheerful, her characteristics could go on and on. She was so lovable that people who didn't know her well bawled their eyes out the day after she passed away. She touched many lives with her kindness and generosity. She was a fantastic person, and even if we don't see her again till we meet her in heaven, she will be in our hearts and watching over us.
I’ve known Belisha for all my life, my parents met both Abe and Belisha and we lived with each other for months, while they were living together, my dad would tell me how he and Belisha would fight each other for fun, how they would talk about random things and have fun all night, both Abe and Belisha and my parents became good friends and that’s how Beti and I became friends.
Even if Belisha is gone, she is in a better place. The day Belisha passed away, I felt like a truck ran over me. Thankfully, Hanicho helped me. She told me that losing someone you love is never easy, and it’s natural to feel grief and sadness. It’s okay to cry and express your emotions because that’s part of the healing process. You don’t have to pretend everything is fine, because it’s not. You have the right to mourn and honor her memory. I later gave this advice to others. Because nobody is alone in this difficult time, we all have each other’s back, no matter what happens. We all miss Belisha, but she is in a better place now. Belisha will always be remembered and cherished.
Abe; you’re not going through this alone, you have a family, a community to help you and have your back.
Beti, Amy, and Melat; if you ever need comfort or need a shoulder to cry on, we’re always there for you.
May God
Matthew 5:4 - Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
In the light of cherished memories, we think of you today,
To honor a dear friend who's now gently taken away.
In laughter and in sorrow, our hearts forever intertwined,
We celebrate the bond we shared, a love that's so defined.
Though you've embarked on a new path, leaving footprints in our hearts,
We'll keep your spirit alive, as each memory imparts.
As tears may flow like rivers, and grief may cloud our sight,
We'll remember you with gratitude, your love's eternal light.
Belisha's laughter was a melody, her smile a radiant sun,
In every moment shared, her warmth was never undone.
We'll find the echoes of her laughter, the twinkle in her eyes,
A bond that death cannot erase, as time unceasingly flies.
In the garden of our memories, you'll forever bloom and grow,
A cherished friend, a precious soul, the love we'll always know.
Rest now in eternity's embrace, in a realm so pure and deep,
My dear Belisha, in God's own care, may your soul forever sleep."
Belishaye, you packed me lunches for my library days,
A memory destined never to fade; in my heart it lays.
Just like my mother did in my childhood days,
Your kindness and care, like a guiding blaze.
Through new days and uncharted realms unknown,
You stood by my side; a light brightly shone.
Overcoming barriers and cultural divide,
You were my anchor, my unwavering guide.
For holidays, we had a cherished tradition to unite,
But now, dear Belishaye, as you journey far and wide.
We hold your memory close, as we bid you farewell,
Rest in eternity's embrace, like a shining star, we compel.
My dear Belisha, under God's gentle sweep,
May your soul find tranquil slumber, in peaceful, eternal sleep.

It is an extremely daunting task to express my feelings and appreciation of Belisha in words. I think she was an embodiment of what a good person would aspire to be. I had known Belisha and her family for about 4 years, but it feels like I had known her for ages. Abe and Belisha hosted me when I moved to the area although we had no prior acquaintance. They made me feel at home the moment I met them. I was astonished by their warm welcome and care. Since that time my family had the privilege of calling Belisha and her family as our friends.
Belisha was our go to person to discuss about child rearing, spiritual life, volunteer work, and vision for improvement. Talking to Belisha about any topic, including jokes, would lighten up your day. She was just very special.
Belisha's family has taught me how to live with faith, vision, kindness, charity, and selflessness. They have also showed us how to stay faithful and strong during difficult times.
Although we lost this wonderful woman sooner than we wish, I think would be lucky to accomplish even a portion of what she has achieved in her life. Through Belisha's Foundation, I am very hopeful that her good deeds and legacy will continue.
