Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — The Belisha Foundation has officially completed Phase One of the “Needy Cancer Patient Treatment and Palliative Care Unit Support for SPHMMC” Project through the successful handover of essential medical and hospital equipment to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC).
The handover ceremony was attended by distinguished leaders from both institutions, including Dr. Muluken Tesfaye, Provost of SPHMMC; Dr. Ewnet Gebrehana, Research and Academic Vice Provost; Dr. Metasebia Damenu, Head of the Family Medicine Unit; and Dr. Mulatu Mebrate, Board Chairperson of The Belisha Foundation.
As part of the project, The Belisha Foundation donated critical equipment and resources to strengthen patient care and improve the treatment environment. The donation included oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, custom-made privacy curtains, and healing wall art designed to create a more comfortable, supportive, and dignified setting for patients receiving palliative care.
The initiative reflects The Belisha Foundation’s commitment to improving the quality of life for cancer patients and supporting healthcare institutions that provide essential services to vulnerable communities. By addressing both medical and environmental needs, the project seeks to enhance patient comfort, preserve dignity, and support families during some of life’s most challenging moments.
