The Belisha Foundation was honored to participate in the Ethiopian Youth Unity Cup 2026, a weekend celebration that brought together young athletes, families, coaches, community leaders, and supporters through the power of sports and community unity.

The event provided an important platform to celebrate our youth and promote the values of teamwork, discipline, respect, healthy living, and unity. For The Belisha Foundation, supporting youth sports is an important part of building healthier and stronger communities.

During the event, The Belisha Foundation hosted a community booth where participants and visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the Foundation’s mission and ongoing programs. The Foundation also used the opportunity to raise awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, healthy lifestyles, and the importance of supporting individuals and families affected by cancer.

Connecting Sports, Health and Community

The Belisha Foundation believes that a healthy community begins with awareness, prevention, and active participation. Youth sports create an ideal environment to encourage young people to stay active, develop positive habits, and build lifelong connections with their community.

The Foundation’s participation also highlighted its broader work supporting cancer awareness and patient care. In Ethiopia, The Belisha Foundation continues to work with St. Paul’s Millennium Medical College and Hospital (SPHMMC) on initiatives focused on cancer awareness, screening, and support for patients in need, including palliative care.

A Message of Unity

The Ethiopian Youth Unity Cup demonstrated the positive impact that can be created when our community comes together around its young people.

While competition was an important part of the tournament, the greater victory was the opportunity to bring families and young people together, encourage healthy activities, and strengthen community connections.

The Belisha Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to the Ethiopian Youth Unity Cup organizers, coaches, volunteers, parents, athletes, and community members who contributed to the success of the event.

The Foundation also thanks everyone who visited its booth, learned about its mission, and expressed interest in supporting its work.
