In a recent pivotal meeting, The Belisha Foundation leadership team met with Dr. Gashaw Abeza, head of Nova Connections, to discuss future collaboration aimed at maximizing the foundation’s impact in both the United States and Ethiopia. With Nova Connections’ longstanding commitment to empowering African communities, this meeting provided an ideal setting to exchange ideas on cancer awareness, community health, and future projects.

During the discussion, Dr. Abeza offered invaluable insights and support, emphasizing the potential for a powerful synergy between both organizations. Key highlights included a review of past events—such as The Belisha Foundation’s participation in the Great African Run and African Impact Award—which have already showcased the success of collaborative community-driven efforts. Dr. Abeza further discussed plans for his upcoming trip to Ethiopia in January, including a unique opportunity to bring high-profile athletes to meet with the Belisha team and create media coverage to amplify our shared mission.
