Introducing the “Hope & Care Project: Restoring Lives Through Cancer Support”

We are excited to announce The Belisha Foundation’s Hope & Care Project, a transformative one-year pilot initiative in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, designed to address the critical needs of cancer patients and their families.

Project Overview
With over 64,000 new cancer cases annually in Ethiopia, patients and their families face overwhelming challenges, including late diagnoses, inadequate care, and financial burdens. The Hope & Care Project is our commitment to bridging these gaps and providing holistic support for vulnerable groups, including children and the elderly.

Key Areas of Impact

1. Comprehensive Support for Cancer Patients
   • Cost: $150 per patient per month
   • Medical care, diagnostic services, medications, transportation, nutritional support, and counseling to address the emotional toll of their illness.
2. Empowering Children Affected by Cancer
   • Cost: $50 per child per month
   • School supplies, tuition assistance, financial aid, and psychosocial support to ensure education and resilience for children impacted by cancer.
3. Restoring Dignity for Elderly Individuals
   • Cost: $50 per elder per month
   • Regular food supplies, seasonal clothing, financial stipends, and home visits for elderly individuals who have lost caregivers to cancer or are battling the disease themselves.
